This is a permanant record store of video, audio, 360 and 3D images documentating the changing coastal landscape of Freeman Park in Carolina Beach, NC. AKA The North End. In the spirit of open source, decentralization and longevity, all media and data collected here will be made publicly available on the IPFS network. May it outlast cloud storage solutions.
The background of this page is a 360 x 180 degree equirectangular image 400 feet above Freeman Park on the North End of Carolina Beach, North Carolina. This image was taken during the supermoon of April 26th, 2001, also known as the 'Pink Moon'. The Pink moon was rising as the sun was setting - as you can see in this image. The moon and sun are on opposing sides.
We will begin to add new 360 views from the park along with other visual data such as: - Regular, repeatable 360 views from the same location. We'll do this from several points in the park. - Regular, repeatable GIS mappings of the Carolina Beach Inlet. - Live camera feed from the Carolina Beach Pier. - Geofenced contributions from users.
